H. Sharif Williams, PhD., MEd, also known as Dr. Herukhuti is the founder and chief erotics officer of the Center for Culture, Sexuality, and Spirituality, which uses arts activism, creativity and cultural production to liberate the ways people love, experience the Erotic, and connect to the Sacred. A sexologist, theatre and film artist, author, educator, and healer, Dr. Herukhuti’s primary work focuses on sexual and erotic empowerment for people of African descent. He’s a professor of interdisciplinary undergraduate studies at Goddard College and adjunct associate professor at CUNY’s graduate program in applied theatre in the School for Professional Studies. He is the author of the book Conjuring Black Funk: Notes on Culture, Sexuality, and Spirituality, Volume 1 and co-editor of the anthology Recognize: The Voices of Bisexual Men. Dr. Herukhuti is currently co-executive producing and co-directing the documentary film No Homo | No Hetero: Sexual Fluidity and Manhood in Black America.
